Friday Post - September 28

1. Web viewer app:
Download

2. Thunkable review:

Thunkable is an online ios/android drag and drop app builder. It has many built in functions like speech/photo recgonition, translation, web viewing, and database managing. Its purpose is to make app development easier. However, it is clunky, glitchy, and doesn't do what it's supposed to half the time. Changes won't save, data won't copy, things will stop working with no change to any settings. The user interface often does not register inputs correctly and a common glitch can occur that overloads the screen with sprites and crashes the browser. Sometimes this glitch will corrupt the project forcing you to restart. It is supposed to be easier than regular coding and provide a transition to it. It had one job and failed it miserably.

Friday Post Sept 7

1. What I know

  • How to create basic gifs using Animate CC

  • Basic HTML5 and JavaScript for web games

  • JavaScript for images

  • QBasic for images

  • Basic photoshop from adding text to adding shadows ect

2. What I want to learn

  • More complex JavaScript and/or different languages like C++, Swift or python for game/application creation

3. How computers will fit into my future

  • Accounting
My main plan for the future is going into accounting. In order to do so I will need to be familiar with spreadsheet programs and databases that store client information. As society moves from paper to digital documents I will do a lot of my work on a computer.

  • Computer Progaming
If Accounting doesn't work out, computers will affect my future even more directly. My second option is to develop applications for what ever businesses need them.
